Meet the Freshman: Andrea Vaca
By Melanie Juarez
Meet Andrea Vaca, Advisory 206.
What were you most afraid of when coming to high school?
Well, everyone has the same fear: making friends. You’re at the same school for 10 years, and then you come to high school and suddenly have to change friends.
What do you like most about Northside so far?
The block scheduling. I like not having to stress over work every week, because I have enough time.
What class do you feel most at home in?
What’s your most difficult class?
Physics, with Mr. Tabora.
If you could be any Northside teacher, who would you be?
I would have to be Ms. Costas, or really any of the art teachers. They seem so comfortable and chill.
Are you going to participate in any clubs/activities at Northside?
I want to join soccer. And for clubs, I want to join NCP Alliance.
What do you do first thing in the morning?
First, I roll around in bed a while, and then text my friends.
What fictional place would you most like to visit?
Definitely the town Marty McFly is from, when he goes back in time.
Do you like your name? Would you ever change it?
Yes, I do. The only name I like better is Isabella - that was actually going to be my name, but my parents changed it.
If you were in “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” what kind of bender would you be?
I’d like to be as good a bender as Aang, so probably an air bender.
Which “High School Musical” character are you?
I always sound terrible for saying this, but I’ve never seen it. My mom didn’t like it, and she was like “You’re not watching that!”
Finally, do you have any good music recommendations?
Anything by The Strokes!
