Meet the Freshman: Miranda Ludwig
by Guy Lohoua
Miranda Ludwig, Adv. 103, is a student who is very active in the Northside community, having competed on the freshmen volleyball team; she is currently dancing for the poms team.
What's your favorite thing about Northside?
I love the block schedule; when I talk to people from other schools like Lane, they are way more stressed about homework than I am.
What were you afraid of when coming to Northside?
I was scared about not making the volleyball team. I thought there would be hundreds of people trying out and that I would not be able to make it. Luckily, I was able to make the team. Playing was so much fun, so I’m glad I came here.
What job would you be terrible at?
I wouldn’t want to be circus performer. I'm not that flexible. Although I’m on poms, I wouldn’t be able to handle the flexibility needed to do well.
What skill would you like to master?
I want to master writing essays. We have to write a lot of essays in school, so I want to be able to just pop out good essays left and right!
What songs have you completely memorized?
A lot of Taylor Swift songs.
What pets did you have growing up?
I had a guinea pig when I was younger, but my mom accidentally killed it when she forgot it outside.
What fictional place would you most like to go to?
I would like to go the world of The Wizard of Oz, because it seems magical.
If you didn’t have to sleep what would you do with that time?
I would take dance lessons. I used to take lessons when I was younger, but I stopped. Now that I’m on poms, I would love it if I could take dance lessons again to get better.
What’s one of your pet peeves?
I can’t stand when people chew with their mouths open; it is also incredibly common, which is disturbing.
