Meet the Freshman: Benjamin Katz
by Guy Lohoua
It has been over three weeks since school started, and it is time for the Northside community to meet some of its newest members. Benjamin Katz, Adv. 105, was thrilled to be able to share his experiences thus far. Katz already has his mind set on the kinds of activities he wants to take part in at Northside.
What Clubs are you interested In?
Model UN, Debate, and maybe Math Club. I know that Debate and Model UN both require a lot of commitment. I don’t know if can do both at the same time, but I definitely plan to try both at some point.
Which teacher are you most afraid of, and which would you most like to be?
I’m wary of Mr. Snow because he’s given me the most homework so far, but I’ve never had a really formal English class so I don’t know if that’s how it’s supposed to be. I really like Coach Z, so, if I had to pick someone to be, it would probably be her.
Which class turned out different from what you expected?
Java and Media Computation. I haven’t coded a single thing yet. The course is way more hands- on than I thought it would be.
What do you hope to gain from coming to Northside, and what have you realized your first week here?
I’d like to leave Northside with more knowledge than when I first came in, and I’d love to experience all this school has to offer. I noticed that the Northside community is a lot friendlier than what I was initially told.
